What Is Beautiful?
People like to wear beautiful clothes. If we print① some colorful patterns② of some words on them, the clothes will become more attractive③. But the meaning of the words on them must be lovely too. I’m sorry to say that some people pay no attention to④ this. Now, please look at the picture. The girl in a new jacket looks pretty⑤ indeed, but the English words on the jacket are quite different. Do you think a “snake”⑥ beautiful? Do people take pride in⑦ being a “prisoner⑧”? Of course not! And on the other two jackets are written “kiss me” and “foolish”. Do you think the girl is foolish? If the girl knew the meaning of the words on it, she would probably⑨ not buy such a jacket. So I think everyone know what is beautiful and what is not.
