Nowadays，iPads are very popular in our school. Many students hold the view that possessing an iPad is a fashion. There is no doubt that with it we can listen to music，download learning materials，and so on. In other words，it's helpful to our studies，especially our English learning.
However，each coin has two sides. Some students bring their iPads to the classroom and listen to music，which ruins our learning atmosphere. What's worse，some even waste their precious time playing games.

Senior middle school graduates students of our school have different opinions on how to choose their courses and universities.
About 35% of the students believe the choice should be based on their own interests. They say interest is the mother of success. It is a miserable thing to have to spend most of your time studying what you have no interest in.
Most of the students, however, insist that main consideration should be given to the needs of our society. They argue that not everyone can find the job they like best. Besides, interest is not something unchangeable. We can always develop it.
Interestingly, about 20% of the students find it difficult to make a choice and would rather depend on their parents or teachers to make a decision for them.

In recent years, with the popularity of the Internet, many of us devote a great deal of time to it. As a consequence, we don’t write as well as we did in the past. In order to protect our Chinese characters and improve our handwriting, we’d like to offer some suggestions:

Should students make friends on line? Some people say yes. The internet helps make many friends. Chatting on line, students can more freely express their feelings
and opinions and even get help with their foreign language studies.
Others, however, think students should not. They say making friends on line is a waste of time, which should be spent more meaningfully on study. Besides, some students get cheated on line.
I hold the view that students should place their study, health and safety before other things. As for friendship, we can find it in our classmates and other people around us.

Guangming High School is in the west of the city. When you enter the school gate, you can find the teaching building on your left and the gymnasium on your right. Walking on further, you can see a round building which is the library in the middle of the campus. The building on the northwest corner serves as the dining hall and the building opposite it on the northeast corner is the students ‘dormitory.
The high school has a history of nearly 100 years. There are about 5000 students studying here and a teaching staff of about 300. The campus covers an area of 24000 square meters with bushes and flowers surrounding every building, which provides a quiet and beautiful environment for the students.

I am a Senior 3 student. I often quarrel with my parents over whether I can watch TV after school.
My parents hold the opinion that I should study hard so that I will have more choices in the future. Besides, they consider that it is harmful to my eyes to watch TV too often. But in my view, it is TV that gives me something that I am interested in. In addition, it may relax my mind when I am tired, in which case the efficiency of my study will be improved.
In the end we reached an agreement. Only at weekends am I allowed to watch TV, however, the programs are limited to news, sports and entertainment, not including TV plays. This agreement is acceptable to me for it is beneficial to my study and life.

Ladies and gentlemen, I feel it a great honor to have a chance to give a speech here, talking about fog and haze weather. Since the end of last year, fog and haze weather has occurred a lot in some areas of China, which has done great harm to our daily life. Many traffic accidents happened because of the bad weather. Besides, more and more citizens have to go to see the doctor because of the serious disease caused by the fog and haze.
We should take measures to reduce fog and haze weather. The government should suggest people go to work or school with the public transportation. Also more trees should be planted. As for me，I will go to school by bike or on foot.
