What to do in an earthquake?

2.Pre-speaking
(1)The teacher reads the passage for students,and asks them to find the main idea of the passage.
(2)What can we do when an earthquake happens?
3.While-speaking
Activity 1: Summarize the features of giving adviceThe teacher guides students to observe the advice in the passage and invites then to working groups to talk about the similarities of the advice. Then guide students to summarize them;Divide then into different categories,such as inside outside
Use the base form of a verb.
The subject is usually not used in the sentences.
Activity 2:Give your advice
There're four letters from students with confusion,who need some instructions when a disasterhappens. The teacher invites students to give some advice according to the letter and make a dialogue with their group members, After eight minutes, the teacher invites some groups to show theirdialogues and the teacher makes an evaluation.
4.Post-speaking
Ask students to make a poster about earthquakes, which includes advice or instructions to protect ourselves when an earthquake happens. Then invite students to share their work.
5.Summary
Students summarize what they have learned and the teacher emphasizes the importance of prortecting ourselves.
6.Homework
(1)Search for more information about earthquakes or other disasters.
